surrendering to the hands of the moon
salty
home of the salt-lovers
darkens
its depths
for macabre beasts
vicious whirlpools
whip delicious krill
for
giant critters to binge
frothy and smooth
aquatic
forests
offer refuge to
some
unending openness feeds
the rest
as in a single drop
so is the entire sea
blind
judge
billions
of eyes probing
miles
beneath the last ray of light
perfect in
unending change

(Cuenca, Ecuador -- May, 2020)
This is one of my favorite poems from this time. The style is a little dated, and the poem itself is a little dark and cryptic, but it's meant to take a look at the interconnectedness of all things and their powerlessness under the laws of nature that govern the entire universe and all of its living creatures.
